Building, by Landmark Solutions NW

Groundworks to handover, one accountable team. Scroll to watch an extension go up the way we build it.

01 / 07

Groundworks

Foundations dug and poured to the agreed design, then sub-base, membrane, insulation and slab, each checked before the next goes down.

02 / 07

Walls and steel

Blockwork built up around the openings the design calls for, and steel set to carry the roof across the wide glazed opening.

03 / 07

Roof

Joists set to a fall, then deck, insulation and a single-ply membrane, finished with a metal fascia.

04 / 07

Glazing

Full-height sliding doors fitted once the structure around them is ready.

05 / 07

Render and cladding

Through-coloured render and cedar boards, and the details that tie the extension to the house.

06 / 07

Patio

Porcelain paving laid slab by slab on a compacted base, so the new doors open straight onto the garden.

From instruction to a finished job.

A genuinely sequential process, which is why this is the one place we number things.

  1. Step 01: Instruction

We review the instruction, the information available and what the property needs.

  2. Step 02: Scope

Trades, materials, access and sequence are planned properly before anyone is on site.

  3. Step 03: Organise

The right trades are scheduled in the right order around the property and its occupants.

  4. Step 04: Communicate

Everyone who needs to know is kept informed of progress and anything needing a decision.

  5. Step 05: Complete

The finished work is reviewed and completion information handed over.
